Seaglass House by-the-Bay offers visitors a gracious beachside home located in the historic community of Bay Ridge just 4 miles east of Annapolis. The childhood home of Dr. Beachcomb, Seaglass House sits at the nexus of some of the world’s best sea glass and fossil beaches, the same ones Dr. Beachcomb writes about in her award-winning book, “A Beachcomber’s Odyssey.” Comb those beaches on her self-guided tours. Seaglass House offers water views, easy beach access, a huge dining room for family meals, a reading room, a game room, and a private back deck with a grill. It is the perfect place for a family, friends or beachcomb retreat.

When you aren’t exploring Annapolis, spend your time beachcombing, biking, jogging, or sipping coffee beachside as the sun rises over the Chesapeake Bay. Bay Ridge beaches are also perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or launching small boats.

Instructions compiled by Dr. Beachcomb on regional beaches to comb, a gift bag of Chesapeake Bay sea glass, and the opportunity to purchase a First edition, signed copy of 'A Beachcomber's Odyssey' at the family/friends price are perks that come with the rental.

The peninsula community Bay Ridge, framed by the Chesapeake Bay, the Severn River, and Lake Ogleton, was originally the summering grounds of Piscataway Indians, then the site of colonial plantations, and finally a Victorian resort destination for city folk from Baltimore and Washington. For nearly a century now, Bay Ridge has been a private community whose beaches and natural beauty remain unsurpassed in the region.

For groups up to 20, the house next door is also available and sleeps 10 people.
